Learn how to integrate your TopBrewer coffee machine with Nexudus.

Scanomat is the world-leading manufacturer of premium, connected coffee machines. TopBrewer is their flagship coffee brewing solution that lets customers order, customise and pay for drinks using an integrated iPad. As customers order drinks using the iPad menu and by scanning the Nexudus QR code, their purchases are automatically added to their account in Nexudus and they are charged on their next invoice.

Requirements to Integrate TopBrewer

Before you integrate TopBrewer with Nexudus, make sure you meet all the following requirements.

Requirement 1 - Have a Scanomat Account

If you don't have a Scanomat account yet, get in touch with Scanomat via their contact form. They will help you open your account and have the TopBrewer installed in your space. 

Mention that you want to integrate Scanomat with Nexudus during the installation so that the Scanomat technician can show you how to connect to Nexudus via the TopBrewer app. 

Requirement 2 - Have a Scanomat Product in Nexudus

You need to create a product dedicated to TopBrewer drinks in your Nexudus account. This product is the line item that appears on customer invoices. 

You can create this product in a few clicks in the Admin Panel

  1. Log in to your Nexudus account, if you aren't already logged in.
  2. Click Inventory.
  3. Click Products in the Sales section.
  4. Click Add product.
  5. Give your product a name.
    Make sure the name is clear to you and your customers, for instance TopBrewer Drink or TopBrewer Coffee.
  6. Enter a short description for your product.
  7. Leave the Price field empty.
    You set and edit the price of your drinks directly within Scanomat.
  8. Click Save.

Your Scanomat product now appears in the products list and is ready to use for the integration.

Requirement 3 - Have a Shared Secret for Scanomat and Nexudus

You need to create a shared secret to use in Scanomat and Nexudus. A shared secret is simply a password that you define to allow both systems to communicate. 

You can generate a shared secret from a website such as https://passwordsgenerator.net. Once you have your shared secret, copy it somewhere so that you can use it later in the integration process. 

Integrating Scanomat 

Integrating Scanomat is an easy two-step process. 

Step 1 - Enabling the Scanomat Integration in Nexudus

  1. Log in to your Nexudus account, if you aren't already logged in.
  2. Click Settings
  3. In the Apps and Integrations section, click Integrations.
  4. Scroll down to the Other section and click the Scanomat tile.

  5. Set the Enable field to YES. 
  6. Click the Coffee and Drinks product dropdown menu and select the product you created for the integration. 
  7. Set a monetary amount in the Maximum amount on account field if you would like to cap how many drinks customers can add to their future invoice.
  8. Enter the shared secret you created previously in the Shared Secret field.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Click on the grey cross in the top right corner of the screen. 

The Scanomat tile now appears in the Available integrations section at the top of the page.

Step 2 - Sharing the Secret Key in Scanomat 

During the installation process, the technician should have shown you how to access a specific menu to log in to your Nexudus account and share the secret key from the TopBrewer app. 

If you didn't get to ask the technician how to access this menu, get in touch with Scanomat's technical team via their contact form. They will help you access the right menu and share your secret key to finish the integration. 

 

Using TopBrewer 

Using your TopBrewer to make a coffee is a very simple process. All members will have to do is:

1.   Select your coffee of choice from the selection screen of the TopBrewer's accompanying iPad menu.

2.   Adjust your preferences such as coffee strength, milk type and the number of cups required.

3.   Select Next Step: Pay.

4.   Place your cup under the TopBrewer's tap.

5.   Open your Passport app and press the hamburger icon on the left-hand side.

6.   Select QR code.

7.   At this point, your Passport app will display your unique QR code.

8.   Present this QR code to the iPad’s camera, which will have switched on after selecting the Pay option.

9.   Your coffee will begin to brew.

In a matter of seconds, your coffee will be ready to enjoy.

 

Accessing your TopBrewer purchases in Nexudus 

Once a members' drink has been served, the selected product will automatically be added to the member's customer record, (Operations > Customers > customer details > Sales)

If you would like to access the previous TopBrewer purchases of a particular member, you can do so by accessing their customer record within the Admin Panel, by following this process.

  1. Log in to your Nexudus account, if you aren't already logged in.
  2. Click Operations.
  3. Click Members and Contacts in the Customers section.
  4. Click Contacts.
  5. Click on the member whose purchase history you would like to access.
  6. Click Sales.

Here you will find all of the beverages that that particular customer has ordered, that have been automatically added to their Nexudus account.
