NexKiosk

Learn more about NexKiosk and set up a till in your space in a few minutes. 

 

NexKiosk is a Nexudus app for administrators and customers available on iOS and Android tablets.

Using NexKiosk adds a $/£/€100 charge per month to your Nexudus subscription. Additional locations add a $/£/€25 charge per location.

NexKiosk lets you set up a point of sale in your space in a few minutes. Your customers can purchase products through the app on a self-service basis. They can also be checked out by staff through the app. Either way, purchases are automatically processed in Nexudus and you can keep track of them through the admin portal. 

As customers purchase products, they can choose to either be charged on their next invoice or pay upfront with their card using one of the supported payment methods (iZettle or Square).

NexKiosk Examples of Use

NexKiosk can be used to sell any product you have in your Nexudus inventory in a quick and easy way. Here are two examples:

Cafeterias & Honesty Bars

Set up a cafeteria or an honesty bar in a couple of minutes without needing to set up any complex checkout equipment. All you need is an iOS tablet and the NexKiosk app. Customers can help themselves and add what they took to their next invoice. 

You can also choose to allow card payments that require a card reader from one of the two payment providers compatible with NexKiosk.

Access Self-Service

Let your customers purchase passes, booking credits or any other access-based product autonomously with NexKiosk. Cut down the need for staff to process this type of request and allow customers to purchase access to your space and its amenities in a few taps on the app. 

 

NexKiosk Modes

The NexKiosk app has two modes: Epos and Kiosk. Epos is only available to users with an admin account in Nexudus. Kiosk mode is available to any customer with access to your members portal.

Epos mode

Epos mode is dedicated to space administrators. This mode lets you use your tablet as a staffed checkout that is linked to your Nexudus account. 

It is an extension of your admin portal from where you can sell products, process customer payments, and access invoices.

You need to log in with a Nexudus admin account to use this mode.

  1. Download the NexKiosk app on your iOS or Android tablet. 
  2. Open the app on your tablet.
  3. Log in using your Nexudus admin email and password.

  4. Select your space location. If you manage more than one space, make sure you select the right location.

  5. Tap on the Epos tile.

You now have access to the Epos mode in NexKiosk.

Kiosk Mode

Kiosk mode is dedicated to customers.

Before accessing the products available for purchase, customers need to sign in using either the Passport app or their email and PIN code. Once they're logged in, they can select the products they want to purchase, review their cart and check themselves out. For more information on NexKiosk in Kiosk mode, click here.

Payments in NexKiosk

Customers can pay in two different ways when using NexKiosk: through their invoices or with their card.

NexKiosk's default payment option is to charge customers in Nexudus and have them pay for their purchases on their next invoice. This payment option is available in both Epos and Kiosk mode.

You can also choose to connect NexKiosk to either iZettle or Square and let customers pay immediately using their card. 

Square is currently available in the United States. Because Square requires admin access to process card payments, it isn't available in Kiosk mode.

iZettle is currently available in the following countries:

  • Brazil
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • Mexico
  • Netherlands
  • Norway
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • United Kingdom

iZettle works in Epos and Kiosk mode. 

Using NexKiosk in Epos Mode

Only staff with a Nexudus admin account can use the Epos mode. The app works like most staffed checkouts.

You add the products to the cart and then either charge customers on their next invoice or have them pay by card. If you want to let customers pay by card, you need to connect NexKiosk to one of the two supported card payment methods beforehand. 

  1. Tap on the Epos tile if you haven't selected a mode yet. 
  2. Tap on a customer name from the customer list.
  3. Tap on all the products you want to add to the customer's cart. The products appear on the right side of the screen as you add them.

  4. Tap on Checkout
    You can see your customer's unpaid invoices and available money credit from the checkout screen. This can help you decide which payment method to use.

  5.  If you want to add a discount, tap on Discount and enter a valid discount code.
  6. If you want to add a note to the transaction, tap on Add Note and type your note.
  7. Choose a payment method: 
    Tap on Pay Later if you want to add the items to your customer's next invoice. 
    Tap on Charge if you want your customer to pay for their items immediately with their credit or debit card. This payment method won't work if you haven't connected NexKiosk to a payment method beforehand.

Products purchased through NexKiosk will appear on customer invoices as any other product. If customers are part of a team with merged invoices, their purchases will show on the paying member's invoice.

Using NexKiosk in Kiosk Mode

Customers can use the app on their own in Kiosk mode. They log in using either the Passport app or their email address and PIN code. 

Customers should have received their PIN code when they joined your space. They can also find it by simply logging in to the members portal and clicking on My Account > Password

  1. If you have the Passport app on your phone, open the app and tap your phone on the tablet.home_screen_kiosk_mode.jpg

  2. Tap on a product category to see the products available.

  3. Tap on the products you want to add to your cart. 
    You can also tap on the arrow next to the price to see the details of a product.

  4. Click on the cart icon in the bottom right corner of the screen to review the products you've added to your cart and edit quantity.
    You exit the cart view by tapping the arrow in the top left corner of the screen.

  5. Tap on Checkout once you've selected all your products.

  6. You now have two options to pay for your products.

    Tap on Add to Bill if you want to add this purchase to your next invoice. 
    Tap on Pay Now if you want to pay for this purchase with your credit or debit card. 

  7. If you chose to add your purchase to your next invoice, tap Confirm to validate your choice.checkout_pay_later_message_kiosk_mode.jpg
  8. If you chose to pay immediately, tap your credit or debit card on the card reader.

You've purchased your items and are ready to go.

Connecting iZettle to NexKiosk 

You can use iZettle as a payment method in NexKiosk. Before you connect iZettle to Nexudus, you need an iZettle account and a compatible card reader.

Visit iZettle's website for more information on how to create an account and get a card reader.

Once you have your iZettle account and a compatible reader, all you need to do is connect iZettle to NexKiosk

  1. Open the NexKiosk app on your tablet. 
  2. Log in using your Nexudus admin email and password
  3. Select your space location. If you manage more than one space, make sure you select the right location.
  4. Tap on Epos
  5. Tap on the menu in the bottom left corner of the screen.

  6. Tap on Settings.

    You'll be redirected to the iZettle login page.

  8. Log in using your iZettle account credentials. 

NexKiosk should now be connected to iZettle. We recommend you make a test purchase to ensure everything is processed correctly both in Nexudus and iZettle.

Connecting Square to NexKiosk

You can use Square as a payment method in NexKiosk. Before you connect Square to Nexudus, you need a Square account and a card reader. Visit Square's website for more information on how to create an account and get a card reader.

Unlike iZettle, Square works like a traditional till or cash register and requires the presence of a staff member to operate the card reader.

If you haven't added Square as a payment method in your Nexudus account, follow our step-by-step tutorial before you connect Square to NexKiosk.

  1. Open the NexKiosk app on your tablet. 
  2. Log in using your Nexudus admin email and password
  3. Select your space location. If you manage more than one space, make sure you select the right location.
  4. Tap on Epos
  5. Tap on the menu on the bottom left of the screen. 
  6. Tap on Settings.
  7. Tap on Pair Square Reader.
    NexKiosk will start to try pairing with your Square reader. 

NexKiosk will now be connected to Square. We recommend you make a test purchase to make sure transactions are processed correctly both in Nexudus and Square.
